Inga has over 12 years’ experience working in the area of data protection and privacy in relation to new and emerging technologies. Her most recent role involved providing data protection consultancy services to a variety of global organisations.
She has experience of conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and privacy impact assessments (PIAs), including providing recommendations for developing organisation-wide robust privacy and data protection programmes. She is experienced in providing assessments and advice related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), the 95/46/EC Directive and its various enactments in national country-specific legislation across the EU, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) in the UK. She also has in-depth knowledge of a variety of other legislative frameworks and standards, including: the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the 1952 European Convention on Human Rights, the 1980 OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data, and the APEC Privacy Framework.
Inga has a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from University College London (UCL), and an MSc in Science and Technology Policy Research from Manchester University. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and is an ISO 27001 Certified Information Security Management System (ISMS) Lead Implementer. She has practical experience of providing recommendations to organisations to guide them on their path to compliance with the 95/46/EC Directive and the GDPR.
She has publications in peer-reviewed journals, including papers on privacy by design (PbD), privacy impact assessments (PIAs), and data protection regulation at the European level. She is a member of the Surveillance Studies Network and EASST (the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology). She is a member of the National Association of DP & FOI Officers (NADPO).
