What is the difference between the IAPP CIPP/E and the IAPP CIPM?

The CIPP/E provides the regulatory/legal background and foundation upon which organisations need to comply. The CIPM is more operational and focuses on how to establish and operate a privacy office, within an organisation.

How much study time is required for the IAPP exams?

We recommend you allocate 40 hours per certification.  For example, 40 hours for the CIPP/E and 40 hours for the CIPM.

Is the cost of the IAPP exam included?

Yes. You also receive 1 years membership to the IAPP.

How and where do I take the IAPP exams?

The examination is provided by PersonVUE, and includes the option for online proctoring which means there is no requirement to visit a physical examination centre. Alternatively, you can book to take the exam in person at one of the many PearsonVUE examination centres globally.
